HOLA!

I am Sonia, a native Spanish speaker originally from Madrid and the Basque Country. I studied economics and law at university, then English in the USA, I have lived in the UK with my English husband for 25 years. I have brought up my three daughters to be completely bilingual, now I have time to help you reach your goals in Spanish

Teaching Experience:

Adult beginners through to advanced. Written, conversational… professional, vocational, holiday Spanish taught and children of all ages catered for.

GCSE Spanish for male and female students.

I have been tutoring privately for four years now, and it's been so successful that I have recently given up my job to concentrate full time on teaching. I work with many clients on a one to one basis, but I've also found increasingly that couples and family groups work very well together and can be a lot of fun.

I believe the best way of learning a language is face to face, I prefer to teach in my home where I can provide a comfortable relaxed atmosphere with access to my extensive educational resources.But I could also teach at your home. I plan every lesson to meet your individual requirements. I really enjoy teaching, my lessons are fun but produce excellent results.

I am very enthusiastic about Spanish culture and language and willing to share my knowledge with my students. I travel regularly to Spain and like to keep up to date with current affairs.

Teaching Approach:

All my lessons are prepared in advance and tailored specifically to each clients needs, I appreciate student feedback and plan accordingly… I get results, but that doesn't mean that we can't enjoy the lessons and have fun along the way.

In my experience adult beginners benefit in a more relaxed learning environment where they learn at their own pace, without peer pressure. I particularly enjoy helping my students overcome the challenges of learning a language, which they can then use practically, professionally, vocationally or just on holidays in the restaurant, on the beach or in the bar.
