This is how 4 referees rated Robin:
I am a graduate in English Literature (York) with a Masters degree from the Institute of Advanced Studies at London University (French and Spanish). I have worked for many years in formal education, but I far prefer the flexibility, rapid progress and personal contact which go with teaching individuals. I do not believe there is any magic wand or ideal method; rather there are as many ways of teaching as there are learners. Finding the best way forward for each student is one of the aspects of this work which affords me great satisfaction.
I have worked in the education industry for nearly forty years and have taught in Schools, Colleges and Higher Education at levels ranging from Special Needs to University, from "chalk face" to management, at home and abroad. My extensive experience in institutions and working with individuals has given me insight into the many ways in which people learn and into the unnecessary, often illusory factors which can inhibit it.
All learners are different; there is no single method or approach which suits everyone. Learning must be enjoyable. If it is not there is something seriously wrong. I enjoy my work and I do everything I can to make sure my students derive pleasure and satisfaction from learning.
The key to success is identifying the starting point and paying attention to the specific inclinations, needs, strengths and weaknesses of the individual learner. This means listening, not lecturing, and staying clear of rigid methods or approaches. What works for one person may not work for another, and I try to encourage students to participate in the process of unlocking their own potential. When people are engaged and participating they are learning with pleasure.
A headmistress I once worked with, who, at the time was something of a mentor to me, once answered a question about methods of teaching reading by saying that there are as many methods as there are children. I have never forgotten that.
My current clients range from schoolchildren battling with learning disabilities, through Oxford and Cambridge applicants, from adults beginners to some with post-graduate degrees. The quest for creative, individual solutions to educational problems affords me tremendous stimulation, and my students do well, whether they are studying for an examination or simply acquiring and refining important life skills.

Good luck with your future studies.
He was able to get swiftly to the problem areas and be very direct which was a huge relief.
My son is now feeling more confident and is actually looking forward to taking his exam.
I would strongly recommend Robin.
