This is how 2 referees rated Roberta:
I am an enthusiastic teacher and Italian native speaker with a strong academic background in Italian Literature and History of Art.
I have attained a Master's degree (Distinction) in Italian Literature at University of Bologna gaining an excellent command of the Italian language and a deep insight into the culture.
Furthermore, I have obtained the certification TIAFL ‘Teaching Italian as a Foreign Language’ at the Italian Culture Institute in London, learning the best approach to maximise the students' progress and motivation.
I have gained experience in teaching both in small groups at the Italian Cultural Institute during my training course and in one-to-one tuitions.
I have planned and created lessons for a variety of levels from beginners to intermediate using original and authentic materials.
I have created engaging and innovative activities to stimulate the students' improvement and interest such as games adapted to language learning as well as audio, video and visual material.
Every lesson has included a focus on Italian culture, grammar and pronunciation, and has been aimed to enhanced the students' speaking competence.
In my teaching experience I have developed a communicative approach able to show short-term improvements in the students' speaking ability and competence.
My lessons are student-centred enabling the tutee to effectively practise the language in an active way.
The grammar is instructed through an inductive approach to make the student able to understand the concept within a specific context, and pronunciation is facilitated with a focus on individual phonemes, stress and intonation.
All lessons illustrate different aspects of Italian culture: natural and artistic heritage, social customs and peculiarities.
This active and engaging approach is the perfect way to stimulate the students' interest and motivation in learning a new language.
