Personal Description:
I am a PhD researcher specialising in Linguistics and parallel to that, I teach English and Persian to individuals from different ages and linguistic backgrounds. I am currently working as a language teacher at both the Virtual Persian Academy and Kingswood Academy.
Aside from my work as a language teacher, I have actively written articles in both English and Persian, as well as translated stories and articles from English and Arabic into Persian.
I have extensive experience teaching English and Persian as a second/foreign language and have provided one to one and classroom teaching to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Syntax (grammar) and Critical Discourse Analysis are my areas of expertise in linguistics. I have worked with students on their essay writing skills, focusing on critical thinking and source evaluation, argument structure, and academic writing ability. In the past, I have also offered proofreading services to academics and authors.
Teaching Experience:
I have taught in schools and academies, where I gained invaluable experience and knowledge in teaching languages to SEN learners as well as gifted and talented students.
Teaching Approach:
I like to start by talking to the student and finding out where they believe their weaknesses are. Simple assessments, such as past exam papers, can also highlight areas that need to be addressed.
I am extremely friendly and patient, which contributes to a relaxed learning environment in which it is acceptable to make mistakes.
I am happy to assign and grade homework outside of class to assist students in reaching their goal(s).

This paired with a light hearted approach makes hour long online lessons absolutely fly by. This tutor's encouragement always helped motivate me where self study could not.
Nima also gives helpful feedback on homework and study, making allowances for personal alterations, as well as allowing the student to take a break from extra tasks on especially busy weeks.
Their passion for language shines through, not only in linguistics, but also culture. I have been greatly enlightened by Nima's knowledge of Persian culture and history.
This tutor is highly qualified and yet very reasonably priced.
They've also been really great with timetable changes and are always punctual and enthusiastic!
As a keen language learner of 3 foreign tongues and a full time tutor and long time educator myself, I had high standards for tuition, and Nima absolutely surpassed these in every sense!
