Personal Description:
Bonjour! My name is Nathalie, I am a French native speaker and a French teacher. I speak German as well.
Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching French from GCSE to A-Level for almost 20 years, 13 of which in two of England's most prestigious private schools, parallel to teaching DELF and DALF for the French Institute in London, as well as for a private Language School.
I now also teach university students and adults from different backgrounds (corporate, large NGO organisations, adults within the Continuing Professional Development scheme, personal development, conversational French, and other skills).
I am a certified DELF/DALF examiner & marker and prepare both pupils and adults for this internationally recognised qualification (A1 to C2 levels). Furthermore, I am a certified trainer for DELF/DALF examiners & markers, so I really know this examination and its required skills inside out!
I have both experience and certified training to work with SEN students (both children and adults), and I have worked as a French teacher in Academic Support departments, mainly helping pupils with dyslexia, dyspraxia or speech impediments.
I now teach extensively online, using platforms such as Zoom, Webex, Ring Central or G-Meets.
Teaching Approach:
I take great care in establishing a caring and enjoyable working environment, as I think this is an essential basis for progress. My teaching methods are both encompassing and adaptive, and I use a large bank of authentic resources that I have gathered, created and honed over the years. My students will tell you that they love my energy, my fun approach to teaching, my patience and my dependability.
My aim is always to adapt my lessons to the needs of the learners, making sure I fulfil their expectations while maintaining a high level of motivation and enabling students to progress quickly and confidently. One of my degrees is in English grammar (BA First-Class Honours), therefore I have an excellent understanding of the difficulties faced by anglophone learners. My approach to teaching grammar and vocabulary is not always conventional and I use a lot of mnemonic techniques, which have proven to be highly successful for young and older learners, who have enjoyed quick and rewarding progress!

Nathalie is a very talented, dependable, patient and engaging teacher who makes the journey of learning a language enjoyable and achievable. She effortlessly breaks down the complexities of grammar and tenses (which us English tend to know little about!) into manageable bitesize chunks that start simple and build on each other as we progress. I had wanted to learn French for a couple of years so I could speak with my partner’s French side of the family but had struggled with motivation or knowing where to start. Under Nathalie’s guidance and teaching, I’ve made tremendous progress over the past few months. Learning French once seemed like a farfetched goal and I’m very grateful to Nathalie for making this possible. She invests her time generously, plans and tailors lessons to my needs and truly cares about and celebrates my progress.
I couldn't recommend Nathalie enough and feel very lucky that I've found such a talented and inspiring teacher!

We are very pleased with the choice we've made because Natalie is extremely knowledgeable, responsible and able tutor.
She made sure she did her utmost in order to achieve best possible results for her charge. Also she was flexible enough to accommodate our busy and therefore sometimes changeable schedule.
Highly recommended tutor!
Many thanks,
