Information About Mauro - Hackney teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Mauro:
I hold a Masters degree with merit in Politics and Government in the European Union from the London Schools of Economics, and a first class (honours) degree in International Relations from the University of Rome. I have been working in the third sector on public policy since finishing my studies. I enjoy reading and writing, and I collaborate with various web magazines on social policy and European affairs.
I have been tutoring back in Italy for a very long time, at primary and secondary school level. In the UK I have been tutoring adults and young professionals in Italian, and maths, history and science to primary school pupils.
I have a tutoring approach tailored on the specific needs of each student, whereas aims and objectives are clearly set and areas of intervention identified at the beginning. Not all students have the same learning difficulties: to ensure learning objectives are achieved I briefly assess the tutee and their learning style, to better understand where and how to intervene. I will then focus on specific areas such as development of analytical skills, practical exercises, written tasks and paper revisions, according to each tutee's needs. Periodical revisions of targets and achievements will be performed to assess the level of progress and modify the areas of intervention accordingly. I support my tutoring sessions with exercises, revision of past activities, topic-specific tests and conversation and listening activities.
