Information About Maria - Ealing teacher

Personal Description:

My name is Maria and I am a Secondary and 6 th Form College teacher with a Master’s Degree in Teacher Training (with the Qualified Teacher Status in UK) which allows me to impart the following subjects: History, History of Art, Literature and Spanish language.

Teaching Experience:

I have a variety of experience working as a teacher, including teaching a small group in a high school and individuals by private tutoring. Together with my specialisation in GCSE and GCE levels, I acquired plenty of experience in an art centre working with Primary students as well. In addition, I have been teaching students from different backgrounds and with special needs. For example, as a private tutor I helped a student with Asperger’s Syndrome to achieve the final qualification.

Teaching Approach:

Along years working in various contexts and teaching different age groups, I’ve learnt that one of the most crucial requisites in education is an excellent communication between student and tutor. In order to achieve this, it is imperative to provide a comfortable environment for the students, where they can feel encouraged, active and creative. Taking this into account, my experiences in art centres confirmed to me that one of the most accurate methods for a success student/teacher interaction is the use of emotional intelligence. For instance, through art activities, I have supported students to get over their stage fright and fear of speaking in public.
