Personal Description:

My name is Magdalena and I have lived in Bristol for almost twelve years with my son and husband. I have always found languages fascinating and I was very lucky to be able to learn a few of them throughout my schooling and I am sure that led me to become a language teacher. And even though I'm not fluent in those languages they are still with me. I believe that languages are real keys that open up our minds to new and unknown and make the foreign countries with their cultures less scary and more interesting. At the moment I am trying my best to learn Spanish.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked in education for almost fifteen years altoghether. I started my career as a teacher of English as a foreign language in Poland and since then I worked in both state and private schools as well as tutoring students of various ages and abilities, ranging from young children to adults and from total beginners through advanced learners to professionals. Here in England I have experienced working in alternative schools - Steiner Waldorf settings - as a learning support and classroom assistant and I have learnt a lot about different approach to teaching and learning that I have found both very interesting and effective. It has been almost twelve years since I first arrived in England and my language skills became much broader. Now I would like to share my experience and skills with those who need support with English as their second language. Also as a native speaker of Polish I am happy to teach anyone who would like to get to know this beautiful language better.

Teaching Approach:

I believe that if one wants to truly learn a language they also need to explore and experience lots of other things including culture, food, customs, festivals. The best and easiest way is of course to live it but it's not always possible. Therefore I think that the teacher's role is to provide all that is necessary so the student can experience the language fully. Also everybody's needs and learning pace and interests are different and there is no universal approach, everybody deserves to be treated individually. I aim to create such learning environment that is closest to the real thing, and therefore I believe, most effective.
