Information About Lucie - Edinburgh teacher

Personal Description:

I am French and have been living in the UK for more than five years. I spend my time writing (in French and English) for film and stage and have a degree in History from UCL in London, as BA Film from Paris-Sorbonne University and an MA Film Directing from Screen Academy Scotland. I am friendly and open-minded, and passionate about languages and how they shape our understanding of the world.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored French to children and adults (from 5 years-old to much older!!) in one-to-one sessions, and groups of two to 15. I have also taught drama in French and in English, to children, teenagers and adults in their mother tongue or in a foreign language.

Teaching Approach:

I like to adapt my teaching to my student's needs. I am passionate about grammar and the logic of language but I do realise that it's not everyone's cup of tea! Having a background in theatre and language-learning through theatre, I am happy to offer games, or different ways of learning if you're not too academic. I am also a musician and love bringing music to the table, as well as films of course. I believe that learning a language should be fun and that you cannot learn if you're stressed or afraid, or not enjoying it.
To quote Shakespeare (because he might not be French, but he's still pretty good): "No profit grows where is no pleasure taken'.
I am organised and provide lesson plans adapted to each student's needs.
