Information About Jasmin - Kingston upon Thames teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Jasmin:
I am a recent graduate of Economics at the University of Warwick and La Sorbonne. I spent a year in Paris working and studying Economics in French, at La Sorbonne (France's premier university). Prior to this, I studied French at A-level, after which I spent the summer in Paris, au pairing for a family.
Overall, my grasp of the French language is much more rounded than the classroom basics and I understand the applicative problems of speaking any language, especially French.
I have previously tutored English school children with the French school curriculum and whilst in Paris, I tutored French students in English. My approach in Paris will be more similar to the one I would approach with prospective students: conversation based with quick grammar exercises and some cultural pointers.
In addition to tutoring in languages, I have also had extensive experience in tutoring kids up to age 20, in Economics and Maths, and so, am well equipped to take on all age ranges and abilities.
I believe that languages are learnt by having a thorough grounding in grammar and vocabulary and content will follow with conversation and aural exercises. Half of the issue with speaking French in France, is not actually building a sentence, it's being able to understand a question and respond quickly to keep the conversation flowing.
