Personal Description:

My teaching will focus more on how to learn the language quickly and how to create a learning structure that will ensure you maximise your time and become functional using Mandarin ASAP. I studied Mandarin part-time and was using it functionally within a year. I was awarded a Confucius Scholarship in Guangzhou to study further. I have great experience and references for teaching English. I would love to help anyone study mandarin, especially children for whom I think it will be a life changing and very relevant skill to have in the 21st century.

Teaching Experience:

Designed and delivered the english teaching program for education company Readstart in Guangzhou. Taught english privately for numerous children.

Teaching Approach:

Learning a language has to be something interesting and fun. Something that you do not feel guilty spending time on. Making the investment to learn a language requires a long commitment, and daily effort. I am fortunate I found and still find Mandarin an incredibly interesting and relevant language to learn. It is easier than you think to create an environment of language immersion in your country, The most difficult part is the first 6 months where you cannot use the language as a tool. As soon as you can create the positive feedbacks that come with hard work, progress can be achieved quickly. My approach then, will be laid back and fun, but also ensure the pupil is constantly pushing out of the comfort zone and constantly challenging themselves. I am modern learner and value using apps and websites, which can make learning convenient and help me maximise my impact as a teacher.
