Personal Description:

A 32 year old Classics teacher who has recently gained his PhD in Classics from the University of London. I studied Classics in universities in various countries, including Germany and the Netherlands. I have been teaching Latin, Greek, Philosophy, Religious Education and Critical Thinking in the London area for 5 years from primary school to university level. I am presently employed in a private girls' school teaching Latin and Critical Thinking. I am passionate about Classics and Philosophy and I am dedicated to teaching as a vocation. I am married with two children. My personality is open, honest and understanding.

Teaching Approach:

I have a very simple common-sense approach to teaching. I first understand what the level of knowledge, learning style, strengths and weaknesses, and personal preferences of the tutor are. Then I am focusing on gradually building up confidence by a very thorough and detailed method that lays a strong emphasis on knowing and understanding the fundamentals of the subject. I always look for particular interests one may have in a subject and encourage the tutee for more in-depth learning through these. I always support independent learning abilities, which are key to constant improvement. I create a friendly, secure and relaxed working environment, where it is easier to make achievements.
