Information About Frances - Norwich teacher - (29 reviews)
This is how 2 referees rated Frances:
I am a retired teacher of French and German with 35 years of teaching experience in London, Suffolk and Norfolk. I was head of a successful 6th form in the 5 years prior to retirement. I am very familiar with the GCSE and A level requirements of the various exam boards and I have been a GCSE German oral senior examiner. I very much enjoy the company of young people and have two sons of my own who keep me well grounded! I have a property in France that I visit regularly, friends in France and Germany and I also maintain my fluency and up-to-date knowledge of both languages by reading a lot. As well as helping school students with their exams I have also taught many adults in both languages and I tailor my lesson preparation carefully to the needs of individual learners.
As well as the above I am currently tutoring students in French (Beginners and GCSE level, but can also give help with grammar at A level) and in German (beginners through to A level)
I believe the key to successful langauge learning is the building block approach - it is crucial to understand one thing before moving on. Motivation comes through success. Lots of practice, both oral and grammatical is crucial.

She has a good method and I belive that is very important when learning a language, I am just a begginer in german but I can feel improvements since I started my classes.
She inspired confidence, put my daughter at ease and worked thoroughly through AS material which helped my daughter achieve a great result at AS level.
I cannot recommend her highly enough.
Update: My daughter got an A in her French GCSE, a huge achievement for her!
Thank you once again and should Jordan wish to further his German studies, he would not hesitate in getting in touch.
Because of their very positive relationship, Lily is now hoping to do French A level, something that would have been unimaginable six months ago.
I have just been to a parents' evening with teachers who didn't know my daughter had been seeing a tutor and they remarked on how well she is now doing and how confident she has become in her German speaking. If you want to add my comment to your profile, I would highly recommend you to anyone else who wants to give themselves the best chance in their A level or to improve their confidence. (I'm sure my daughter would too but she's out at present!)
Your vast professional experience is evident from your thorough preparation and your ability to put tutees at ease while ensuring they make good progress. Thank you for your help, and best wishes,
Lesson are clear and well structured, with the objective of each plan established and lessons are tailored to my needs. Homework is also set.
