Hello! Hola! Salut!
I graduated from the University of Strathclyde with a First Class Honours in French & Spanish with distinction in both spoken languages in June 2015. Since then, I've used my talent and enthusiasm for languages to help lots of learners improve their own ability and build on their confidence. Language learning doesn't have to be boring or difficult; with a positive can do attitude, I believe anyone can speak another language!
I am available to give bespoke lessons in Glasgow City Centre or via Skype.
Since returning to the UK after spending time abroad, I have tutored university students as well as casual adult learners with different abilities and needs in French and Spanish helping them to achieve their own goals.
I am TEFL qualified and have extensive experience teaching English as a Foreign Language abroad. This experience has allowed me to develop a bespoke approach and style to my language teaching. While teaching English abroad, I worked with students of all ages and abilities in a variety of environments:
• Aupair in Pamplona, Spain tutoring two primary school aged children in English
• British Council Language Assistant in a High School in Spain - teaching grammar and conversation to students from 11-18.
•Private Academy English Teacher - teaching all age groups English as well as preparing for Cambridge examinations.
•Summer Camp English Teacher - teaching children conversational English by doing sporting activities.
As a result of living in Spain, I gained fluency in Spanish and also learnt about Spanish culture and traditions which I believe to be an important part of learning a language.
I love teaching and believe that learning a language doesn't have to be boring. A language is much more than just reading a grammar book. I tailor my lessons to meet each individual student’s needs and ability. These lessons are fun and interactive and are designed to motivate students and push them to reach their full potential. I build my lessons around pertinent themes and encourage students to further develop their language skills independently by sharing my knowledge of useful apps and websites to aid learning.
