Personal Description:

A French native speaker and a passionate qualified French teacher with more than 7 years teaching experience. Working as a GCSE writing examiner for AQA (2018 & is 2019 series, and contracted to work for the 2022 one). Teaching up to GCSE and A Level with excellent results.

I have studied English and Spanish at Master`s level in France, worked as a French assistant in a Birmingham Secondary School for 2 years and then completed my PGDipEd and my MA Teaching Studies at the University of Birmingham. I have been living in Birmingham for 10 years.

I speak five languages: French, English, Spanish, Sinhala and Mauritian Creole and I am currently learning Italian so as well as being a teacher, as a learner I understand the challenges that students are faced with when learning a language.

Teaching Experience:

I am Deputy Head of Languages/acting co Head of department at Swanshurst School in Kings Heath and I teach French up to GCSE and A Level with excellent results (including 4 9s, 2 8s and 4 7s in my class this year for GCSE and 1 A*,1 A and 3Bs for A Level over 2 years).
I also have excellent knowledge of the AQA specification through my teaching but also my examiner experience which has helped me to understand the specification even better.

I have of course attended many training sessions for all 4 skills as well.

I am willing to travel 3 miles for free, but there will be a small charge if I have to travel more.

Teaching Approach:

I am a passionate teacher who strives to make my subject interesting and engaging to students as well as pushing them to achieve their very best. Having taught the current specification for now 4 years, I can confidently say that I know the specification in and out and therefore know exactly what to work on to achieve the highest grades.
