Personal Description:

My native language is English; and I have studied Spanish at GCSE; AS level; A level; and degree level - therefore I am aware of the demands and structure of the exams at each of these stages.

I graduated from The University of Liverpool in July 2014 with a First Class degree in Economics and Spanish with Distinction in spoken Spanish and was awarded the "Combined Honours Arts Prize" for the highest overall degree mark in my cohort.

In order to develop my language skills, I worked for an Insurance Company in Madrid for 6 months and I have traveled around much of Spain and various Latin American countries. I extensively used my professional Spanish whilst working in the banking industry in London.

Teaching Experience:

6 months of language tutoring in Madrid
5 years part time Tennis and Hockey coaching at SJB Academy at Cranleigh School
Tutoring GCSE Spanish in Surrey

Teaching Approach:

Very flexible teaching style according to the level of the student.

A variety of grammar, conversational, written and listening exercises used each week. To keep things interesting and current (for more advanced students), we will read and discuss newspaper or magazine articles on areas of interest to the student.

For students seeking support for examinations, I adopt a pragmatic approach to the selection of exercises and topics covered, in order to ensure that the student is confident in all of the areas covered in the curriculum.
