I was born in Canterbury of a French father and a German mother though I am a native speaker of English. I was brought up in Leeds (hoping they will make it to the top-flight this season!) and after gaining five 'A Levels' (AAABC) I went to Oxford University where I obtained a BA and MA in Philosophy and French. I proceeded to do Postgraduate studies in London and spent a good part of five years reading my way through the British Library (1993-1998). I directed a feature documentary film about Alain Robbe-Grillet in 1996 and a series of experimental films from 1995-2001. I moved from London to Shropshire in 2002 and have spent the majority of my time writing and editing works of fiction and non-fiction. Teaching, however, has always been a part of my life and I have had many educational placements over the past twenty years, both scholastic and private. I live outside Shrewsbury and teach in Birmingham and London. I am a senior editor at London-based publishing company LTG and I am currently the curator of the 'Nobel Prize Collection'. My wife and I have six children and due to special needs in the family I am very sensitive to autism and other disabilities. I have been a published author since 1999 and I am a member of the British Association of Journalists. I am a member of MENSA though I cannot get my head around Sudoku or Cryptic Crosswords!
I have taught pupils from KS1 to Postgraduate level. I have done an equal amount of group-teaching (lecturing/seminars/classroom) and individual tutoring (mentoring/coaching/private tutorials). I have taught privately in Switzerland (Geneva, Basel), France (Paris), Germany (Berlin, Munich) and Italy (Milan) though I have also taught at schools in Poland (High School, Warsaw) and Slovakia (Bratislava). I am a native English speaker but I am also fluent in French and German. I have been a professional author/journalist for the last ten years so I have done a greater amount of private teaching and consultancy than previously as this fits better with my contracts and assignments. I am editor of the 'Nobel Prize Collection' for Living Time Global (Publishing) and a member of the British Association of Journalists. My parents were both lecturers themselves and this inspired me to start teaching at 17, so I have been tutoring in 'A Levels' for almost 30 years. My most recent teaching activity has been corporate and executive work (which does sometimes mean very early hours!). I am experienced in teaching children and adults with special educational needs - including Autistic Spectrum Disorders (Autism, Aspergers, Pathological Demand Avoidance), ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and other developmental conditions. I taught whole classes of special needs pupils at a vocational college, which was probably the most demanding job I have ever done. Currrently I am authoring the English learning guide 'English In No Time'.
I have a flexible yet rigorous approach to language teaching with which I am able to guarantee quick advancement at all levels. I can adapt to the use of any course materials presented by the student but have a structured program to provide to students who do not have a curriculum of their own to follow. I teach individual tutorials but can also provide group and class lessons. I have experience with TEFL, GCSEs and A Levels as well as different University Syllabuses. Coaching for Entrance Examinations to Oxford, Cambridge and other Universities can also be provided. I have taken pupils from U (Unclassified) and F (Fail) grades up to B (Very Good) and A (Excellent).

He is very methodical and is adding the structure to my learning that I was hoping for. He is very personable and professional in his approached.
I would recommend him to everyone who needs to learn the language in depth or just get some extra lessons.
