Personal Description:

Hi, call me Dell. I'm a native Londoner in my 30s, and I'd love to help you improve your English!

I've worked previously in voice acting, administration, and finance. I have a BSc in Molecular Biology from the University of Exeter. In my free time I read a lot of fiction, listen to a wide variety of music, work on my Spanish (solo tengo nivel B2), and proof-read my friends' essays.

Teaching Experience:

I completed a 120-hour TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate in 2023, plus a number of 12-hour specialist certificates from the British Council.

I've had a range of teaching experience outside of a language learning context, including pre-exam tutoring for friends' kids, one-on-one music lessons, and designing and delivering corporate workplace training.

Teaching Approach:

I think it's incredibly important to personalise my lessons to your needs and interests; if you're engaged in the subject we're talking about, you will feel more focused and motivated! So I prefer to start by finding out your learning goals and structuring our lessons to work towards them, whether you want to focus on conversation, business English, writing, listening skills, grammar, or a combination.

I'll provide all the lesson materials so you don't have to worry about buying textbooks. We'll study real-life uses of English using things like podcasts, news articles, songs, and video clips, as well as specifically-made study resources like worksheets and quizzes.
