Personal Description:

After having spent one year in a French school and more recently (July 2014) finishing a degree in Modern Language studies (French and English) with the Open University, I have been using French in my customer service job where I have had opportunities to travel to Paris, as well as discovering a passion for teaching the language to both adults and children.

With over 200 million French speakers across countries such as Canada, Switzerland, Belgium, and North, sub-Saharan Africa and of course France, there is no wonder why French is a handy language to learn whether for holidays or for business. French is also the language of culture, cooking, fashion, great works of literature, music and films.

I believe that learning a language should be made accessible to both adults and children no matter what their requirements.
An understanding of French opens doors to the world's 5th biggest economy; I have certainly been reaping the benefits of this as I have been on many enjoyable working trips to Paris to exhibit at trade shows.

Teaching Experience:

I realised my passion for teaching French 5 years ago when the director of the company I worked for asked if I could teach him an hour per week. He was a complete beginner but now he is able to respond to emails and phone calls from his French customers, as well as speak to potential French clients at a Paris trade show.

As well as adults, I have been teaching GCSE students as well as primary school children.
One of my younger students used to live in France and had learned to speak French fluently while he was there. Unfortunately when he moved back to England he had lost his confidence so his mother approached me. After only a few weeks he had regained his confidence to have conversations in French with me. It was extremely rewarding for us both!

Teaching Approach:

I always arrange an initial informal meeting with new students free of charge so that we can discuss your requirements.
I like to make lessons relevant to you to ensure that they are tailored to meet your goals.
I also have a good knowledge of the school curriculum should a student need help with their French school work or if seeking extra tuition for GCSE French.

The ultimate aim is to make the most of your time, so your own views on the structure and content of your lessons should always be of primary importance.
