I have a BA Honours degree form Nottingham University and spent part of my course at the University of Freiburg, Germany.I have many years teaching experience in secondary schools--see below and have also worked in a commercial capacity in France training French sales representatives for a British company.
I have lived in Highclere for 17 years.
I have taught languages in secondary schools in Inner London, Buckinghamshire, The London Borough of Sutton and the London Borough of Croydon where I was Head of Department. Whilst living in Jamaica for 3 years I taught at The University of the West Indies and at The Government Language Training Centre in Kingston.During my time there the German Embassy sent me on a course to learn their highly effective methods of teaching foreign languages. I also served as examiner for the University of Cambridge Examinations board overseas
I have been tutoring for almost 5 years and my students have made very good progress.
I initially assess my students' needs to enable me to cater for their individual requirements and to bring them forward.I prepare students for their school examinations or in the case of adults I develop their comprehension and conversational abilities.I aim to make my students comfortable and at ease with both me and the language they are studying and to feel uninhibited when using it and to enjoy their session with me as much as possible. I love languages and hope to convey that passion to others.
