I live near London… England with my family. I enjoy walking with the dog in the countryside, and going to London for shows and art exhibitions. I studied history and political science at university, so I am happy to discuss current affairs and what is happening in the world. I also studied French at A Level, although I'm a bit rusty. I try to have lessons when I have time. I go to church and I enjoy helping out with one or two charities.
I have been teaching EFL/ESOL for over fifteen years, primarily at Further Education and Adult Education colleges in England. I have been teaching online for the last five years or so. I have taught exam classes in KET,PET,FCE and CAE, successfully covering the materials to help students gain excellent grades. I have also been helping students with other exams such as TOEIC, TOLES and IELTS. I was delighted when recent students reached their goals in IELTS to attain 7 and above, having previously struggled.
I have also taught French students in my home, offering hospitality and culture as well as intensive tuition. My husband was able to convert one young man to the joys of cricket!
More recently, I have taught one to one using Skype and virtual classrooms. I believe that this opens up so many opportunities for learners to engage with a variety of tutors, and gives access to many different accents and cultures. I try to look at global issues, as well as introducing something of British culture, depending on the learner's needs. Most recently I have taught exam courses at a local language school.
I hope to make the classes interactive, personal and communicative. I will consult with you fully on how you want to proceed, and what would suit your learning needs and aims. I give and ask for regular feedback and encourage learners to be responsible for their own learning. I am delighted to use materials provided by the learner or can find materials from the internet, or use a course book. Depending on your learning style, we can use recordings, videos, readings and so on. I am pretty flexible, so we can cover most things from literature to politics, business English or how to order a pint of best bitter. Entirely up to you! I aim to build on your strengths and iron out any weaknesses, increasing your confidence in your learning, while challenging you to develop your knowledge of the language. If we can have a good rapport, and a dash of humour mixed in, all the better.

I am delighted that I have been able to help.
You have made great progress in improving your approach to the tasks and developing your vocabulary and grammar. You have worked hard and I am sure this will pay off in the exam.
