Personal Description:

Hello! I'm Alex and I'm a warm and enthusiastic English tutor. I have a Bachelor's degree in English language and literature from Oxford University and the Cambridge CELTA certificate in English teaching. I'm a native English speaker and I'm passionate about learning languages and helping others to communicate well. I am extremely patient, and my lessons are based on your needs and interests. I am able to help very advanced students perfect their English, because of my background in studying literature, linguistics and accents. Elementary and intermediate students are also very welcome! I have lived in Japan, Hong Kong and the UK so I have a broad cultural awareness. I have also studied a little French, German and Japanese, so I'm familiar with the experience of language learning.

Teaching Approach:

I shape my lessons around your interests: why are you learning English? I love helping students to reach their goals, which I find very rewarding. My lessons are friendly and relaxed, with lots of conversation and fun. My students often tell me I can explain difficult things very clearly. I can also provide accent coaching for anyone wanting to speak standard British English. If you need, I can also teach you to understand other accents, such as American, Australian, Scottish, etc.

I am happy to work differently, depending on your way of learning. For example, if you only want conversation practice, we can have full lessons of conversation. If you want to practice complex grammar points, we can focus on grammar. It all depends on what you want.
