Personal Description:

I'm a native speaker of Italian with more than 26 years experience in this country. I'm a qualified MFL language teacher (PGCE) and a qualified public services interpreter (DPSI). I hold a degree in English, French and Italian literatures and languages from Urbino University, Italy. I also have a Diploma in French from CIOL (Institute of Linguists).

Teaching Experience:

I've been teaching in secondary schools as well as privately since 1996, gaining considerable experience in dealing with different abilities and learning styles and across a wide age spectrum ranging from 11 to 80.
I have experience in teaching both French and Italian GCSE (EDEXCEL, AQA and IGCSE) as well as A level (Edexcel) and Italian for holidays and travelling.

Teaching Approach:

My aim is to put students at ease and help them achieve their goal in the most efficient and enjoyable way. I follow a communicative approach as, I believe, the beauty of language learning is to be able to speak without inhibitions but I also consider grammar and written exercises useful tools for consolidating what has been taught. I always discuss my client's needs whether it is to pass an exam or simply learning for pleasure and I do my very best to meet those needs by adapting my lessons accordingly. My online lessons are very interactive as I use a lot of authentic materials available on Internet as well as graded textbooks like Nuovo Espresso, easy readers and a variety of Italian contemporary novels. I either use Zoom or Teams for my online lessons.
