I have an M.A in Translation from Arabic to English. I have travelled throughout the Middle East and learnt lots about the Arabic culture and also the importance of learning both Fusah (classical Arabic) and one of the various regional dialects.
I am an enthusiastic teacher with years of classroom experience gained in the UK, Egypt and Syria. I believe in providing carefully planned lessons for my students and providing frequent progress reports. I have helped several students obtain their GCSE in Arabic. Unfortunately, I do not provide Skype lessons… this is what YouTube is for!
I have taught for 4 years in Egypt, Syria and in the UK. I have also managed language schools where I have been responsible for developing course content. I have taught English and Arabic to students of varying levels and have experience with one-on-one teaching.
I believe we learn when we enjoy what we are learning. My approach involves figuring out what you are interested in and providing classes that work around you. I have learnt from my own experience as a student of Arabic that there are many useful methods and resources available to help learn the language effectively. I believe in positive reinforcement and maximising student talking time through using Arabic as the operational language as much as possible
