Personal Description:

My name is Giada. I'm a native speaker of Italian and a language teacher with over 13 years of experience. Learning languages and teaching has always been my huge passion. I think enthusiasm and motivation along with competence and determination are the key factors to achieve our goals and to have fun at the same time. I have experience in universities, language academies, school groups of all ages, cultural centres and one-to-one tuitions. I have been living and working in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland so I am used to a multicultural learning environment.

2011-2012 Language Tutor for GCSE level at Belfast Metropolitan College (Northern Ireland)
2011-up to present Language Tutor at Queen's University of Belfast (Northern Ireland)
2012-up to present Italian Language and Culture at Crescent Arts Centre, Belfast
2019-up to present Italian Language and Culture at Newtownabbey Borough Council, Northern Ireland
I am also working as a private tutor and I have been offering 1 to 1 classes for over 13 years both in person and online.
I have worked with all sorts of age groups from children to adults, catering for their needs (pleasure, family, work, travel).

Teaching Approach:

Here is what you can expect: in the first lesson I will assess your level, strengths and weaknesses and we will discuss your interests and your goals as well as your motivation and the time you are willing/able to dedicate to your new language-learning adventure. I will keep monitoring your improvements over time and we will do revisions as needed. Also a feedback after each class will be provided. I believe in the efficacy of a comfortable, encouraging and relaxed atmosphere between the teacher and the learner. I will provide the support you need and I will share with you selected materials and tailor-made lessons.
We will work together in each session to develop multiple skills: reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation and we will also learn new things about the culture too. I will give you tips to enhance your studying autonomy by developing routines, time management and memorising techniques. Depending on your level, I will offer authentic materials or adapted ones and we will work together using structured activities.
What I offer:
General language lessons for those willing to work on all the 4 skills (speaking, listening, writing and reading).
Conversation lessons to maintain your level and achieve fluency on the topic you choose.
Specific lessons according to your interests if you want to focus on certain aspects of the language (grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary… )
