I've been learning French with Claire for about four years (I'm an adult learner, and started from scratch). At the beginning lessons were structured in order to build a good base, the tenses/basic grammar/basic verbs and so on. She helped me pass my a1 DELF with flying colours. Since then she's tailored lessons to areas areas I'd rather focus on, loosely within the DELF curriculum. Claire is very clear, picks up on and addresses issues easily, and is happy to answer my many questions about anything from the origin of particular words and phrases, to questions about aspects of France or French life in general.

I’ve had a few french lessons with Hugo so far; two in person and two on zoom. Hugo has been incredibly flexible with me, as unforeseen circumstances meant I couldn’t do in person lessons for a few weeks. So in the interim I am continuing with the lessons virtually. I’ve tried to learn languages before and always get discouraged as my confidence in my speaking abilities are pretty low. However even over the short time I’ve had lessons with Hugo, I feel more confident in speaking french and am able to form sentences or phrases as opposed to only remembering vocabulary which is how I had learnt previously using online apps such as Duolingo and Rosetta Stone. Having that instant feedback from Hugo really eases my nerves and I always look forward to our lessons. Now I just need to master French so he can teach me German after !

I have had the pleasure off working with Magali to improve my very basic French since April this year. I wanted a native French speaker for the accent and a teacher who understands and knows the language short cuts that we make naturally with our own language. This makes it easier when you come to listen or try to understand in a French speaking Country. Magalie is very experienced so knows very quickly your level and where your strengths and weaknesses are, she then builds from the basics going at a pace to ensure you are taking it in and that you are comfortable with. After 6 months we spend at least half our time having a conversation on different topics and then the rest on different aspects of the language that need learning. I recently visited France and surprised myself with how much I understood. I find the lessons informative, well balanced and fun. Magali is a great teacher.
