Personal Description:
Experienced college lecturer with an MSc in Advanced Computer Science, BSc (Hons) Computer Science, Certificate of Education, 7 years teaching experience, 2 years industry programming experience, and many years of one to one tutoring with students.
Training Experience:
7 years of teaching experience in the area of Computing/IT. This includes GCSE (and other level 2 qualifications such as NVQ and BTEC level 2), A-Level (and equivalent BTEC level 3), the first two years of a degree programme (including Foundation Degree). I have taught in these courses a wide array of subjects including Java/C/C++/C# Programming, Website Development (HTML/CSS/Perl/PHP/JavaScript), Information Systems, Databases (MySQL, Access), Systems Analysis, Generic Office Packages, Windows/Linux Operating Systems. Recent tutoring work has involved extensive 2D and 3D games development work.
Training Approach:
Employs a flexible support model, with initial sessions primarily focused on ascertaining their current requirements and what needs developing. Working one-to-one to understand their specific needs, and putting a structure in place that will help them to their goals.
