Personal Description:

Engineering student at the University of Oxford, specialising in Information Engineering. In the first two years, I came top 5th and 3rd in my final exams. My interests lie in software engineering, robotics, artificial intelligence and medical engineering, and I can help you boost your interest in what you are learning by drawing real life examples.

I can teach you the essentials in frontend web design, which I have been familiar with for 7 years. I also use python and c++ for my machine learning project, and can introduce you to the fundamental concepts in AI. I speak fluent English.

Training Experience:

Tutored GCSE students at St Gregory the Great Catholic School in STEM. A couple of outreach experiences at the University of Oxford Engineering Department as a Student Ambassador. Academic Mentor for Engineering at UNIQ Summer School (organised by the University, targeting A level students), involving programming a line-tracing robot and 3D CAD designing.

Training Approach:

It is important to realise at an early stage that programming is a tool to achieve your goals, not something to learn for the sake of it. The real fun starts when you start building your own projects, and experimenting. Unfortunately, that is when you start running into lots of errors and spending ages to pin down the bug in your code. When you can't overcome a problem yourself, it's a good thing to step back, have another pair of eyes to figure out the problem, or to go back an try a different approach.

A tutorial system is an ideal approach to such issues: I will guide you through the fundamental concepts, and from there, you can start building your own projects. I will help you find out the way, but more importantly, help you acquire the basic approach to learning something new in programming. Self-teaching is especially important in programming, and once you learn how to figure out solutions by referring to documentations, source codes, GitHub and stack overflow, you're good to go!
