This is how 2 referees rated Kate:
I am an IT professional with over 15 years experience in the sector, developing expertise in project / programme management, business analysis, resource and change management. In that time I have managed several different sized project across a range of business areas, progressing to programme management in more recent years. This means I have a significant amount of practical experience in implementing PRINCE2 and MSP, both of which I hold as qualifications. In addition, I have managed the Programme Office for a large organisation, run a team of Business Analysts and lead a very large organisation (>30,000 employees) through the implementation of a new Portfolio Prioritisation process.
I also have experience of managing Business Change, and implementing Change Management procedures, as well as owning the project, programme and portfolio management ITIL processes for the organisation. Finally, I also have significant experience in Resource Management, having redesigned and implemented the resource allocation process for the IT department of my organisation, which involved developing a strategy, implementing processes and software for over 400 IT staff to use.
I enjoy the challenge of resolving issues and understanding the personal side of project management as well as the technical process. I am looking for clients who would like some real world examples and application of Best practice so they can deliver their projects to the best of their ability and working within the specific constraints presented to them for their individual projects.
As Programme Office Manager in a large organisation, I designed and ran project management training courses on behalf of the IT department. My role included managing the IT Training Team, which meant I gained a wealth of practical experience in both developing and delivering training on a range of subjects.
I also managed the Communications and Training workstream of a large (£multimillion) programme, which required me to write training manuals for a new document and content management system, and deliver seminar style, group and 1:1 training in the new system.
I have also line managed other Project Managers and Business Analysts for ten years, which has frequently required me to deliver 1:1 coaching through complex project issues.
I use a range of techniques to ensure that, no matter what your learning style or experience, you'll learn as efficiently and effectively as possible. I believe a personalised approach is the best way for us both to achieve our goals and always take the time to understand what each delegate wants to achieve, tailoring my content, approach and style accordingly. I am very good at working with complete beginners, use jargon sparingly and ensure a firm foundation in the basics before moving on to other content. I am equally comfortable with tutoring expert project managers, having worked with many senior colleagues at an in depth level on many occasions.
