Personal Description:
I have over 30 years experience of computers (large and small); and people (also large and small).
When not training/coaching/tutoring, I work as a data manager for a local school, asnd do voluntary work one day a week refurbishing PCs for Aid to Hospoitials Worldwide charity.
I'm happily married and with two grown up kids who are definitely my greatest achievement.
Training Experience:
I have many years experience. In a business setting - working with staff to help them use their systems more effectively, using IT to gain business benefit; and in a private capacity, working with individuals, running an IT coaching business (**Web Address Removed**).
I have been in and around computers and IT for all my working life, and believe that taking control of your PC is a fundamental life skill. Unfortunately, I also believe that we still have a long way to go to in terms of designing IT to work effectively for ordinary people. So I decided to do something about it…
Training Approach:
Helpful, Understanding, Well-paced, "Gentle"… some of the terms that have been used about my work.
Using your PC should be as intuitive as a light switch, and certainly no harder to understand than driving a car - but it isn't.
So there's no choice but to work at it, gaining skills which will make the PC in the corner a friend, and a useful tool - not a source of anxiety!
My approach is simply this - I offer IT/PC training, in your own home or at your place of work, or online; and I work at your pace, covering what you want to know - not forcing you to follow a rigid training course.
It's all about U.
