Personal Description:

Easygoing, positive, and friendly, currently a Technology Consultant with a background in Maths and Computer Science. I truly enjoy meeting and learning about new people; there is so much to learn from any one person and their backgrounds. I am Polish born, moving the the UK when I was 6, but I also get a portion of Czech and a side of German (can't speak it though) from my mum.

Keen to share what I have learned over the past years and help those who want it. I look back to moments in my life where I got good advice and believe it to be priceless in the knock-on effects it has had in my professional life.

Aside from all the professional and academic stuff, I generally find a lot of stuff interesting and enjoy many hobbies (not very good at most of them) such as gaming, hiking, racing, climbing, paintball, snowboarding, football, languages (trying to learn Spanish), travelling…

Training Experience:

Previously been part of a project called CodeX who are teaching children, primarily with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) how to code in Python. I started as a teacher, teaching weekly one-to-one sessions as well as classrooms. Soon after, I helped as the development lead in creating the lessons and developing the project, but never stopped being a teacher. After a couple years, I could not prioritise the project anymore, replacing myself.

Apart from this, I was a Computer Science mentor at Nottingham University, mentoring the year below, and also tutored at university level throughout my degree.

Training Approach:

I enjoy taking the casual and fun route to learning, reinforced by proper understanding instead of memorisation. I believe that memorisation is temporary whereas deep understanding is unforgettable. I also believe that practise is key and from my experience the quickest way to learn anything meaning I enjoy a task-driven approach where there is a goal to be reached, which also means there is something to be proud of and refer back to by the end of the learning experience.

Saying this, I also believe that flexibility is key and everyone is different so I tailor learning to that which works best for the student, whether that is through practice, explanation, extra reading, or visual aid; or a combination of all.
