Information about Sarah - Bristol instructor
This is how a referee rated Sarah:
Styles of dance taught:
I'm a social dancer in Argentine Tango, and have been dancing for 12 years. Although I have learned predominantly from my teachers in the UK I have also travelled to Europe to dance, and have visited Buenos Aires to dance in the local milongas and to learn from my teachers there.
What makes me happy is passing on my knowledge of Tango to others, so they may share the joy of this amazing dance.
Dance Instruction/Teaching Experience::
I have been teaching group classes and private students for the past 6 years.
I trained with my teacher in Bristol (and although there are no formal qualifications to be taken in Argentine Tango)
I have learned using the traditional kinesthetic method of transferring the dance.
I have experience in taking students in group class or in private lessons from complete beginner up to improver/advanced level.
I follow in the same way that I have been taught, in that I believe in getting the student to start moving straight away, and impart the technique needed though physical contact, verbal and visual instruction.
I break down the fundamental technique we need for posture and some of the more fundamental movements, and as the student progresses, and according to the speed of progress, I add more complex movements and technique.
I can give background to the history of Argentine Tango and the music, and am also happy to take the student to their first social dance (a milonga) when they are ready.
