Information About Paul - Dunkeld trainer
This is how a referee rated Paul:
I am a professional working actor, with over a decade of work in theatre, TV, film and voice-overs, including work in London's West End, Netflix, Amazon Prime and BBC.
Alongside performing, my experience has lead me to training in corporate environments, mainly focussing on confidence in public speaking and developing the skills of managers to better communicate and positively engage with their staff.
My work also includes developing the creativity and confidence of children, specialising in work geared towards aiding the communication and creativity of people with special learning and behavioural needs.
I have a First Class Honours degree from The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) and draw on the work of various theatre practitioners for public speaking and communication training.
Work with Extended Mind LTD
Extended Mind is a company geared at developing the performance of individuals and organisations in various areas, including management and leadership, through various collaborative techniques, including many acting based exercises.
Work with teenagers, developing their approach to and performance of monologues and dramatic readings.
Work in educational environments with children with special behavioural and learning needs, encouraging their communication and expressing of themselves through creative means.
To develop confidence and ease in public speaking, the tuition focuses mainly on ways of taking the focus off yourself and to prevent constant self monitoring.
Each person has their own unique quality. Authenticity is more powerful than perfected form. The aim is to allow the speaker to be comfortable in their own style to best enable to them to connect with their audience and engage them with their idea.
Although there may be some practice that can be had in eye contact, sight reading or diction and clarity, the speaker's confidence is not going to be enhanced simply by perfecting outward skills such as hand gestures and posture, which can often inflict their own bags of nerves!
The tuition will be tailored using various acting exercises geared at changing our nervous focus of self-monitoring to a positively charged focus towards the audience, aimed at engaging and affecting change.
In working with both children and adults who simply want confidence in daily interaction, whether it be due to shyness, nervousness in their own voice, or various other issues, we will engage in creative exercises aimed at taking you out of your own head and unconsciously removing the imaginary fear that often blocks us from expressing ourselves.
The activities are designed to be enjoyed and so new habits grow from experience, not by trying to achieve a task.
In all instances there will be a free consultation so we can best tailor the tuition and plans to the client's needs.
