Information About Susie - Lewes teacher
This is how 3 referees rated Susie:
I am married and live in Lewes, East Sussex and we have 2 daughters - both in their twenties. I trained at Canterbury College of Art (BA Hons - Fine Art) and also have a PGCE. After leaving Art school I lived and worked in London as a sculptor - taking portrait commissions. I then worked as a prop maker at Glyndebourne Opera House. In the early 1990's I began teaching at the Sixth form college in Lewes and also teach privately from my art studio at home. I am also a sculptor working with ceramics.
I have taught a range of age groups, but mainly 16-19 year olds at sixth form college. I also co-ordinated GCSE and BTEC Art and Design and am fully aware of different course assessment criteria. I currently teach Art and Design to A level students and assist in portfolio preparation for progression to Degree courses or Foundation Courses. I teach Creative Printmaking in the evenings with the Adult Education department and also teach Life Drawing on the Enrichment programme at college.
I enjoying teaching groups or on a 1:1 basis. I have a lot of experience in the Fine Art practises including drawing, painting, printmaking and set design. I believe students/pupils learn best by trying out a variety of materials, techniques and processes and to make learning an enjoyable experience.
