Personal Description:

I am an experienced acting coach and trained actor. I have a BA Hons degree in English and Italian Literature and later did a vocational 3 year acting training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). I have since completed a PGCE specialising in performing arts and have been an assessor for the RADA Shakespeare Awards. I most recently taught BA and MA acting technique at the Institute of the Arts, Barcelona, for one year.

My acting credits include the world premiere of Harold Pinter’s Remembrance of Things Past at the National Theatre, Romeo and Juliet (NT), Human Cannon by Edward Bond (NT Studio) All My Sons and Top Girls (Manchester) as well as a year on Coronation Street.

I underwent further training at the National Theatre and ran Shakespeare in Performance workshops there and in secondary schools. Whilst living in Los Angeles, I studied at the University of Southern California, specialising in the work of theatre practitioner Augusto Boal.

I am also a graduate of the National Youth Theatre.

Teaching Experience:

I have over 20 years experience of teaching - first as an EFL language teacher and then, after training at RADA, as an acting coach.

I taught the RADA Shakespeare Awards and Trinity Exams in Drama & Speech at Stageworks Performing Arts School in Cambridgeshire for two years. While in Los Angeles, where I lived for six years, I was lecturer on the Degree programme at the New York Film Academy, teaching Acting Technique and Performing Shakespeare and was a freelance voice and text coach. On returning to the UK, I became an assessor for the RADA Shakespeare Awards.

Most recently I completed an academic year teaching BA and MA acting technique to Musical Theatre and Acting students at the Institute of the Arts, Barcelona, Europe's leading international Performing Arts vocational training.

Teaching Approach:

I work responsively and sensitively with students of all ages. I have a practical 'in the moment' approach to the work. I love the dynamic of one-to-one and how it can enrich an individual’s communication and performance skills as well deepen their understanding of the text.
