Information About Sophia - Putney teacher

Personal Description:

I was born and raised in Italy and moved to London in 2016 to study Fine Art. In Italy, I had the opportunity to learn all about ancient techniques (such as egg tempera, fresco painting, oil painting, life drawing, printing, clay modelling, casting) in a very academic way. I therefore have a very strong and solid foundation and manual dexterity. I graduated High School at the top of my academy class at age 18 and decided to move to London to explore and learn more about the contemporary and conceptual approach to art. I did my Foundation course at Kensington and Chelsea College of Art & Design and graduated with Distinction. I am now at my second year at Central Saint Martins University, studying Fine Art 2D. Many others things have now become part of my practice, such as Photography, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign.

Teaching Experience:

Throughout my childhood my parents, together with other artists, ran residential courses in our home and so I have lived in a teaching ambient and absorbed teaching methods whilst assisting these courses over many years.

Teaching Approach:

I will assess each individual student's needs based on their experience, age group and requirements. Providing either technical advice, setting projects, helping to build a portfolio suitable for art schools applications, exploring creativity and materials. There is no right or wrong in this subject, it's all about personal expression.
