Information About Nicola - Leek teacher

Personal Description:

I am both a practising artist and experienced art teacher. I have expert technical knowledge in teaching painting and drawing, sculpture and printmaking, and after being an educator for the last 15 years, I am currently also retraining to become a ceramic artist.

Teaching Experience:

I have 15 years experience in teaching a broad range of medium within Art and Design up to A Level and have run a highly successful art department in a thriving secondary school for the last five years. I am experienced in teaching many art and design specifications and exam boards both at GCSE and A Level and have expert knowledge of supporting students with their applications and portfolio preparations for creative courses at university. I have also successfully delivered art summer schools for primary age children and evening classes for adults and have training and experience with teaching student with a broad spectrum of special needs.

Teaching Approach:

I am passionate about my subject and like to make learning enjoyable and fun. I have a wealth of knowledge in many different art and design practises and love to see my students develop and progress, no matter what level they are starting at. Each session with me will be bespoke and personalised to support the student's particular needs and interests.
