Information About Natalie - Ashford teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Natalie:
I am a practicing artist with over twenty years experience of teaching. I am enthusiastic, cheerful and motivational with a focus on developing the confidence within my pupils, knowing that in whichever pastime we choose, it is in the struggle, the work, the decision making and the final achievement which increases not only our understanding of ourselves but also affects other areas in our lives, giving us a wonderfully liberating sense of grounded freedom!
I have taught mostly in schools, predominantly 8-18 years of age. I have also taught one to one, both children and adults.
I have several years experience with special needs, including slow learners, autistic and children with emotional and behavioral problems. I enjoy all ages and abilities, with really no preference!
I use my pupils interests often as a starting point, and believe in working together, me as the facilitator, to ensure that the ideas and decisions are mostly coming from the creator, ie the pupil. Through dialogue, choices, visual stimulus, experiences and imagination concepts are born and a work begins.
Developing skills and expertise with one medium, eg oil paint whilst also experimenting with others for example, pen and ink is a good way to ensure progress is being made and the excitement of the new is also happening. Combining methods and playing with all the possibilities on offer is a huge and wonderful part of the creative process.
