Information About Mhairi - Perth teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Mhairi:
My name is Mhairi, I am a practicing artist and photographer working with a variety of media including drawing, painting and you guessed it, photography!
I have had several works on display in the Royal Scottish Academy, Royal Glasgow Institute and Gallery Of Modern Art since graduating from The University of Stirling with a 1st in Art and Design.
I adore my work and would love to share some of the expertise I have learned over the years, with anyone who wants to pursue a new skill.
I have taken small classes of groups of children aged 10-15 for printing workshops at festivals with great success. I have also taught a small group of young people, aged 12-17, the basics of photography with great success. The class was held in the evening and focused on light painting, the work that was produced by them at the end of the lesson was very impressive.
I have also given one-to-one lessons to adults from my art collective, who wanted to have a more in depth look at photo transfer techniques and applications.
I do have a limited amount of teaching experience but the feedback I have had has been very positive.
I take a structured and relaxed approach to teaching a lesson. I always try to keep my students focused and engaged in the work we are looking at. I do try to keep my lessons light but informative and as long as I see you are progressing and understanding the skills I am teaching I will continue to push the learner with more tasks in their chosen area.
