I offer dressmaking, curtain-making and craft sewing lessons on a one-to-one basis or with no more than 2 pupils per session if someone wishes to attend with a friend. This ensures students obtain a high level of individual attention. I operate on the basis that everyone progresses at their own speed, so there is no particular timetable in terms of lesson content. Tuition is tailored to the student's precise requirements and led by them; if a student wants to try another skill or combination of techniques i.e. applique with dressmaking, then I'm happy to facilitate that. Tuition takes place in a fully-equipped workroom and I provide all initial patterns and some materials, along with a list of basic tools and the pros and cons of various items so students can avoid making expensive mistakes. To accommodate today's busy lifestyles with work and family commitments, I try to be as flexible as possible, so lessons do not necessarily have to be at the same time on the same day or even every week.
