This is how a referee rated Mark:

Have beaten GM Keith Arkell in competitive play.
In my current job role I lecture at a college. I have coached many players in the past, including Sharon who became the British U12s girls champion. I have coached many beginners and stronger players.
I am a fully qualified teacher and have a Masters degree in International Politics.
I like to use a three stage approach. Lessons start with a warm-up activity consisting of puzzles or a blitz game. The main part of the sessions consists of formal coaching, either openings, middlegames of endgame technique. If the student has played competitive games I will provide annotations of the games. In the end we test what we have learned with puzzles or a quick game.
Lessons usually take place at my house, although I am happy to coach via Skype if this is more accessible.
