Personal Description:

Hello! I'm a professional theatre director actively making work in major UK theatres. I have 7 years experience as a workshop leader, practitioner and director for The Bristol Old Vic Young Company, teaching acting, ensemble and devising work for young people and adults aged 7 - 65. As a professional director my associated companies include Headlong Theatre, Gecko Theatre, Fen Bristol, Propolis Theatre & Sharp Teeth Theatre.

Teaching Experience:

I have 7 years experience as a workshop leader and practitioner for The Bristol Old Vic Young Company. I also have multiple directing credits with The Bristol Old Vic Young Company including Antigone (2020) and Make More Noise (2017).I work as a freelance workshop leader and practitioner for acting and performance masterclasses with other venues including: Bath Theatre Royal, UCL, Creative Youth Network, University of Bath and Made in Bristol (a year long course at The Bristol Old Vic). I have experience working with and directing professional actors as well as directing and teaching young people aged 7 - 25.

Teaching Approach:

I have a very hands on and person centred approach. As someone who is actively working in the industry I am able to bring practical and real-life approaches for acting and drama to you. I'm keen to find out from you what your goals are for our sessions and anything in particular you may want to achieve. These include (but are definitely not limited to): Analysing and staging a classic or contemporary monologue; teaching and leading acting and directing exercises; devising theatre techniques; writing exercises; dramaturgy exercises; movement and ensemble work; or going through the background and context work for plays and monologues. My goal is to boost your confidence around acting and Drama and provide you with necessary practical tools for the subject.
