This is how a referee rated Kelly:
I am a creative and imaginative person who finds inspiration where ever I look. I've been writing since I could pick up a pen and have a degree in creative writing. I am a published poet and established performer on the poetry circuit. I have also written a novel and am working on another. I also love to write comedy. I love teaching and am enthusiastic, easy to get on with and highly motivated. I am dedicated to my work and my family and friends. Writing and teaching are my passions and mentoring students through creative writing has been one of my favourite jobs so far.
I am an experienced English Secondary School Teacher and Examiner. I have taught English in schools across the board. I am also an experienced tutor in English and Creative Writing.
I run my own poetry group and have been active in arts management and running of events. I run creative writing workshops and work in my community promoting creative writing in schools. I also run a creative writing club at school.
I have experience of marking and critiquing manuscripts, poetry and academic essays.
All my sessions are based on the client's needs and experience. I like to work in a creative way using different kinds of learning methods to engage my tutees, including audio, visual and kinaesthetic. My lessons are structured, engaging and intense. I work by scaffolding learning right from grass roots and building layer by layer until my tutees have a full understanding of the subject. I listen to my clients and change and adapt my teaching style to incorporate their own learning needs. I like to build good, professional relationships with my tutees in order to maintain an enjoyable and successful working environment. I can help you with any level or genre or creative writing.
