Information About Kathryn - Crickhowell teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Kathryn:
I have been running a small textiles business for the past few years and am expanding by developing a teaching branch on sewing and craft skills. As a qualified teacher I have taught sewing to people of all ages from young children to adults and am running courses for local organisations. I love sewing and having the ability to make beautiful things and just want to share the skills! I have specialised in Traditional Welsh Quilting with pure Welsh flannel but am able to make anything from dresses to Dragons.
I have taught for over 9 years as a Special Needs teacher throughout the UK working with children from 3 to 19 years of age. Although I have specialised in Science I have a passion for art, craft and specifically sewing. I have run sewing classes for a variety of organisations working with vulnerable groups and teaching a range of abilities. I currently provide private tuition for a number of ladies and teenage students working towards their Duke of Edinburgh qualifications.
I thoroughly enjoy working with small groups and 1:1 as can provide a bespoke and personalised programme specific to the individuals needs. I am a patient teacher and totally understand how beginners can find a roaring machine daunting. I work through praise and repetition to consolidate skills and may even provide homework where I feel it may support the individuals learning. I enjoy working with little ones and make sewing fun by playing games and making special things.
