Acting / Drama
My name is Kate and I am a professional actor and acting tutor based in Wood Green, North London. I have recently graduated from the 3 year Professional Acting course at The Oxford School of Drama and am currently understudying in The Mousetrap at St Martins Theatre, London.
Having taken Grades 1- 8 in LAMDA performance examinations myself I have a strong understanding of the requirements and preparation needed. I also offer 1-1 sessions for drama school audition preparation and acting classes for confidence and public speaking. I am flexible to adapt each session to best suit your needs and am dedicated to help you or your children to achieve their true potential.
Please do not hesitate to get in contact if you have any questions at all. I look forward to hearing from you!
I have a wide range of experience in teaching, mentoring and workshop leadership and, throughout the years, I have taught nursery school children to adult learners. Primarily my teaching experience is in private acting tuition. I have also worked as a ballet teacher with ages 4-11 and when working as a Well-Being Assistant in my local care home I was responsible for guiding group activities and 1-1s in arts and crafts and music.
Most recently I have worked at The Arts Place, assisting with their workshops and holiday camps. These are primarliy aimed at primary school children to ignite children’s imaginations and unleash their creative potential in a safe and fun learning environment.
My teaching experience coupled with my work as a professional actor, means I have an up to date knowledge of the industry itself and the ability to best support a tutee in their work towards their goals whether that is an exam or an audition.
I really believe in the importance of creating a safe and fun learning environment. There are so many pressures on students today, and I believe you always do your best work when feeling confident and relaxed.
The sessions themselves will be based on each individuals needs in order to make them as beneficial as possible.
I can offer sessions in the following:
-LAMDA Acting Performance Examinations Grades 1-8
-LAMDA Shakespeare Examinations Grades 1-3
-LAMDA Reading for Performance Examinations 1-3
-LAMDA Speaking Verse and Prose Examinations 1-3
-Drama School Audition Preparation. This can include working with the tutee to choose and prepare appropriate and contrasting monologues for the audition day.
- GCSE and A Level Preparation for Drama and Theatre Studies Qualifications
-Acting sessions to suit your specific needs, whether that is to help you with speaking in public or for gaining confidence.
