Acting / Drama
Hi, my name is Josh and I am a current graduate of BA Acting at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. I have acted professionally since I was 10 and have had experience in all types of theatre and film. I have extensive knowledge of the drama school auditioning and training process and am here to help refine audition speeches and technique to help you get into drama school.
I have assisted the teaching and directing of all ages from 6 - 16 at Artemis Studios and at the Green Room Collective Summer School in Berkshire. I also was an intern at Shakespeare's Globe; Globe Education in 2013 and whilst I didn't do any teaching myself I was heavily involved in the world of Shakespearian text. I was also an assistant to the audition panel for the 2015 intake at the Royal Central School.
I have also trained with the National Youth Theatre and Shakespeare's Globe (Sam Wanamaker Festival 2016)
Auditioning can be a stressful time (I know full well!) so I attempt to make an easy and relaxed workshop style environment. I will try and 'open up' the speeches so the auditionee can get across a living, breathing character, situation and environment of the piece to the panel in the short amount of time they have. my aim is not to direct the speech as I want it to still the auditionee's work and interpretation. I will also look at helping with drama school interviews, nerves, taking direction and anything you might encounter on the day.
