Information About Jo - Sandbach teacher

Personal Description:

I am a postgraduate student of Keele University recently graduated with a 2.1 in English, Media, Communication and Culture. My MA is pending and is in Creative Writing, for which I am on track for a distinction. I love working with young people and hope to pass on some passion for the subjects they might struggle with.

Teaching Experience:

My teaching experience is only of an assistant level, I have helped out in secondary schools on a casual basis and have very young siblings who struggle with their literacy who I help regularly. I also was Chairperson of the Drama Society at my University where I would run regular workshops on playscripts and performance etc.

Teaching Approach:

My approach is very hands-on and imagination fueled. Depending on how a child prefers to work is what I will always try and put first. I try to make tutoring as fun as possible with bright colours and sometimes taking a break to quickly shake out all the stress and be momentarily silly. I find this keeps the pupil engaged and the more they enjoy the time they have learning the more likely they are to stick with the subject and remember what they are learning.
