Information About Hywel - Neath teacher - (4 reviews)
This is how 4 referees rated Hywel:
My name is Hywel and I’ve been tutoring biology since 2002 after receiving my bachelor of science at Reading University. I have completed a PGCE (post graduate certificate of education) in further education and have the relevant CRB checks.
Currently playing on the top boards of the first division in the West Wales Chess League, I currently hold a grade of 1772. I have been teaching chess to newcomers of a local chess club, of which I am secretary, for many years and now teach chess in three private schools in the area. I currently tutor approximately eighty children from six to eleven, though I do also tutor teens and adults at the club. I have also lectured to adults and GCSE, holding a PGCE and CRB checks.
I use puzzle workbooks, which i have designed myself, and a short lesson to help improve play, using the board to illustrate. After this, I play practice games with my student, showing them how to improve their game as we go along.
