Information About Gary - Altrincham teacher
Born in Califormnia and joined the US Navy at the age of 18 to see the world and get a free educatioon. Became a photographer in the military and after a short tour of duty in the Mediteranean was staioned in Hawaii for five years.
Moved to Manchester in 1990 at my English wifes request and after working for others for several years started up my own photography company in 2004 in Hale, Cheshire.
My client list is very eclectic and includes commercial clients, magazines, private individuals and newspapers.
My experience in photography is widely varied and covers many disciplines inside the studio and on location.
I have experience teaching photography to mature students through Macclesfield College and delivering subject centred short courses within the workplace.
I've also attended Manchester City College to gain a teaching qualification.
Very hands on and practical with the least amount of theory possible. My philosophy is to learn by doing.
A typical beginners lesson would begin with a short discussion of shutter speeds and their effect on an image and then applying those principles and finish with viewing the results on the computer (for digital camera users).
