Personal Description:
Hello! I'm a fully qualified teacher and professional actor currently studying an MA in Classical Acting at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
I have a First Class History from Cambridge University, where I took part in many productions as both an actor and director, touring internationally and in a variety of UK theatres. I love theatre from contemporary work to Shakespeare and am passionate about it being accessible to people from all backgrounds, at all levels.
I have an advanced DBS check.
Teaching Experience:
I have experience teaching exam students and KS3 students. I have taught in multiple schools, including an SEN school for severe needs, so have a good knowledge of topics across the curriculum and at all levels, and also have experience tutoring one-to-one and in small groups. I was rated 'Outstanding' overall in my PGCE. My GCSE students from the last year have all achieved 8s and 9s in their mocks and exams.
I have taught theatre workshops all over the world as part of touring companies such as University of Cambridge Asian Theatre Tour and the European Theatre Group.
Teaching Approach:
My teaching approach is open, respectful and bespoke. I tailor my approach depending on the needs of the student. I can offer creatively rigorous teaching, which challenges and pushes students to broaden their creative horizons, but equally can build the confidence of students by making subjects accessible.
Overall, I love learning so aim to share my enthusiasm with my students and make our sessions engaging and exciting, whilst also honing technique. I am particularly interested in offering coaching on Shakespearean texts.
Studying acting should be empowering and feel urgent: theatre teaches us how to grapple with the world and has great value outside of the parameters of exams. My lessons are full of cultural capital that help form well-rounded, curious, creatively brave students, as well as achieving stellar exam results.
I offer discounts for students from low-income backgrounds.
